Downtime soon

TL;DR: Server will go down soon due to migrating to self-hosting as opposed to GitHub Pages.

Greetings, any lovely readers. As you may know, I currently host this website on GitHub Pages. I chose this system because it’s free and has a built-in way to support static websites like mine.

However, I will be migrating to hosting this website on my own home server soon. That will allow me to include potential server capabilities, such as comments, webmentions (part of the IndieWeb), and more. The infrastructure will also allow me to expose other services publicly, which I’m very excited about.

This means that one of these days the server will experience some downtime. I hope it will only be a few minutes, but as I’m learning as I go, it may be as long as a couple of hours, or a day or two. I’m not pretentious enough to think I’m hosting all that valuable stuff here to need 24/7 uptime, but I wanted to warn nonetheless.

I may make a new post immediately before taking this down. See you then!
